Find Out If You Have To Pay Any Extra Fees
Most times you don’t have to pay any extra fees besides purchasing the unit you bid on. But these days, some facilities are starting to require entrance fees.
Confirm Beforehand
Storage auctions are sometimes cancelled for a variety of reasons soon before the auction is planned to be held. Because of this, it is a good idea to call the facility the day before to confirm hat the auction is still being held.
Show Up Early
It is always a good idea to show up at least 15 minutes early to register and try to get information. You can talk with the facility manager about the former tenants of the units being auctioned and get to know the auctioneer.
Remember You Have To Vacate Quickly
Most times, you will only have 24 to 48 hours to vacate the storage unit. Some facilities might even ask you to vacate that day. If you need more time, don’t be afraid to ask the facility for more time at a discounted rate.
Become Educated
Don’t just go to a Las Vegas storage auction and wing it. It is a good idea to go to an auction or two and just watch and learn. Take notes of what type of units are sold for the most, what people bring, and how they determine whether or not it is a good unit to buy.
